US: We’re committed to confronting Iran despite the nuclear agreement

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Saturday that his country is committed to confronting Iran even as Washington works to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

This came in a speech he delivered at the Manama Dialogue conference in Bahrain, which he is visiting as part of a tour that also includes the UAE.

Austin said that the United States is committed to confronting Iran, even while Washington is working to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement, according to what was reported by American media, including Al-Hurra TV.

“We remain committed to a diplomatic outcome on the nuclear issue, but if Iran is not willing to negotiate seriously, we will consider all options necessary to maintain the security of the United States,” he added.
