Turkish Parliament Speaker meets his Malaysian counterpart

Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop met with his Malaysian counterpart Azhar Azizan Harun in the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

On Tuesday, Şentop held a bilateral meeting with Haroun, followed by a meeting at the delegation level.

During the meeting, Şentop praised the development of relations between the two countries, especially in trade exchange, and the importance of adopting the local currency as a means of trade between the two countries.

He stressed that the two countries aim to achieve cooperation between defense companies between the two countries, joint production and technology transfer.

Şentop also discussed with the Malaysian side regional and international issues, foremost of which are issues of concern to Muslims, praising Malaysia’s humanitarian role in providing relief to Rohingya Muslims.

Şentop also met with the President of the Supreme Council (Senate) Rice Yateem.

The President of the Turkish Parliament arrived on Monday evening in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, on an official visit.
