In the first eight months of this year (January to August), Turkey exported honey to 44 different countries, with an estimated value of 16,593,563 dollars.
And according to the Anadolu Agency, from the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, 3751 tons of honey were exported to different countries in the first eight months of this year.
During this period, 16 million 593 thousand 563 dollars in foreign exchange inflows were saved from honey export.
In the same period last year, 3,142 tons of honey were exported, valued at $13,597,597, which shows a growth of 19% and 22% in terms of revenues in the first eight months of this year.
Turkish honey was exported to 39 countries last year, while the number reached 44 countries this year.
Bahrain witnessed the largest increase in Turkish honey exports. In the first eight months of last year, the value of exports to Bahrain amounted to $15,700, but this year it grew by 736% to reach $131,263.
According to the sources, Germany is the country most interested in Turkish honey, and during this period, honey worth 5,675,268 dollars was exported to Germany.
Then comes the United States of America with 3 million 148 thousand and 467 dollars, and Saudi Arabia with 2 million 715 thousand 365 dollars.
The profits of honey exports to Germany increased by 45% compared to the previous year, and exports to the United States by 24% and to Saudi Arabia by 30%.
