On Wednesday, Turkish border guards arrested 18 irregular migrants in the northwestern state of Kırklareli.
This came following a report received by the border guards of the presence of irregular migrants in an area near the “Derakoy” border crossing with Bulgaria.
After their arrest, it was found that the irregular migrants hold Syrian, Moroccan, and Afghan nationalities.
Investigations showed that 16 of the aforementioned migrants were beaten in Bulgaria before being returned to Turkish territory.
After completing the necessary procedures against them, they were taken to the Migrant Repatriation Center in the state.
