NASA launches spacecraft for ‘planned collision’ with asteroid

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched the launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The Dual Asteroid Guidance Test (DART) was launched on a SpaceX Falcon rocket.

Through this experiment, NASA will test whether an asteroid that could threaten Earth can change its direction.

The spacecraft, which will travel 11 million kilometers, will reach the target area in October 2022.

The spacecraft will crash at Demorphos at 21,700 kilometers per hour.
