Germany: The contribution of Turkish workers should be appreciated

German Christian Democratic Party (CDU) Chairman Armin Laschet said on Thursday that the contribution of Turkish workers coming to Germany 60 years ago should be appreciated.

This came in his speech during an event held in the city of “Düsseldorf” (west) on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the labor agreement concluded between Turkey and Germany.

“Those who came to our country to work 60 years ago contributed to the development of our country, they belong to us and deserve appreciation more than anyone else, once again, I thank them all,” added Laschet.

He pointed out that the German Federal Parliament includes 83 deputies of immigrant origin, pointing out that the presence of deputies of immigrant origin in the parliament is “a very beautiful thing.”
