Erdogan meets the players of the Turkish Super League

On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met the players and administrators of Beşiktaş, which won the Turkish Super League title for the 2020-2021 season.

During the meeting, which took place in the Turkish Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara, Erdogan extended his warm congratulations to the club members, administrators and players, expressing his happiness at meeting them.

Erdogan said that Besiktas won the Super Leagueand Turkey’s Cup at the same time, to be crowned with his superior performance this season.

He expressed his confidence that the team will continue this momentum and pace during the Super League, as it will represent Turkey next season.

He praised the team’s fans’ role in the recent successes by standing by him through thick and thin.

He pointed out that the current season was held in light of the measures taken to combat the Coronavirus, far from the cheering masses.

“We hope to hold the next season of the Football League, amid the enthusiasm of football fans who fill the stadiums again,” he said.

Beşiktaş won the Turkish Football Cup on Tuesday after beating Antalya Sport with two unanswered goals in a final held at the Gursal Axel stadium in Izmir, with a limited number of fans attending the stands.

And at the weekend, Beşiktaş won the Turkish Super League title, and now has 10 titles in its treasuries.
