Ankara: Thwarting a Greek attempt to obstruct the NATO mission

The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its fighters responded to Greek warplanes that tried to obstruct a NATO training mission in the Aegean Sea.

The Turkish Defense Ministry stated in a post supported by a video clip via Twitter that the NATO training mission NEXUS ACE was concluded in the Aegean Sea.

It explained that fighters and aircraft of the Turkish Air Force, along with a NATO “Awacs” (early warning) plane, carried out the NEXUS ACE mission in the international airspace of the Aegean Sea for mutual training purposes.

It added that Greek planes tried to obstruct NATO’s NEXUS ACE mission in international airspace, as the mission concluded successfully after Turkish fighters responded to the Greek planes.
