Turkey offers condolences to Azerbaijan over Baku blast victims


Turkey offered its condolences for the victims of the explosion that occurred early Sunday morning in a nightclub in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.


The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it had received with sadness the news of the deaths and injuries as a result of the explosion.

“We share their pain with our Azerbaijani brothers, and we ask God to have mercy on those who lost their lives,” she added.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered its condolences to the families of the victims, and expressed its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured

At dawn on Sunday, the Azerbaijani capital witnessed a huge explosion in a nightclub, killing one person and wounding 24 others, according to preliminary information.


Commenting on the incident, Azerbaijani Interior Ministry spokesman Ihsan Zahidov said that preliminary investigations indicated that the explosion was caused by a “gas leak”.
