Turkey launches Operation AREN Winter-22 against PKK terrorists

The Turkish Interior Ministry launched Operation AREN Winter-22 against the PKK terrorist organization in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir.

In a statement on Friday, the ministry indicated that 1,280 security personnel participated in the operation aimed at uprooting terrorists and enhancing the security environment in the region.

The statement pointed out that 20 terrorists have been neutralized since the start of the Winter Arn operations on November 7, 2021, and 350 shelters, dens and warehouses have been destroyed, in addition to the seizure of various weapons and ammunition belonging to the organization.

The Ministry of the Interior named these operations “Arn” after the Turkish young man, “Arn Bulbul”, who was martyred at the hands of PKK terrorists on August 11, 2017.
