The allegation that “13 officials broke the law in elections under Trump”

Thirteen high-ranking officials including former US President Donald Trump, his top aides, and some ministers from his cabinet allegedly abused their positions in the November 3, 2020 election in an illegal campaign.

According to a report by Henry Kerner, head of the US Office of Special Counsel, the nearly year-long investigation concluded that senior officials in Donald Trump’s administration had violated “numerous” violations of the law.

Known as the Hatch Act, which provided for the separation between government duty and political action.

“Senior Trump administration officials chose to use their official duties, not for legitimate government functions, but to promote Trump’s re-election in violation of the law,” the report said.

Those accused of breaking the law included Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, and White House communications director Alyssa Farah.

In addition to Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Senior Counsel Stephen Miller, Counsellor Kellyanne Conway, Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, and Deputy Press Secretary Brian.

Also, Morgenstern, who is Vice President, Chief of Special Staff Mark Short, National Security Adviser Robert C. O’Brien.

In addition to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf, and Ambassador to Israel David Friedman.

The Hatch Act, passed in the United States in 1939, was incorporated into the Constitution as a law intended to prevent federal employees from abusing their office powers on behalf of candidates during elections.
