The US space agency announced that all astronomical images of the Hubble Space Telescope have been suspended for 3 days due to a computer problem.

And the US space agency (NASA) also announced that a computer from the 1980s that controls scientific instruments has been shut down since Sunday due to the possibility of a memory card deteriorating.

To confirm that the computer in question did not turn on despite attempts, efforts were made to switch to a backup memory card.

He stated that if the telescope is successful, it will be tested for one day first, then the instruments will be opened, and observations will continue.

It was emphasized in the statement that the camera and other instruments on the telescope are currently kept in safe mode.

Space observations since 1990

Developed jointly by NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScl), the Hubble Space Telescope has been making space observations in Earth orbit since 1990 when it was launched into space.

In place of the Hubble Telescope, which is now expected to be retired, the next generation of NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope will be launched.

It was developed with the European and Canadian space agencies to a point about 1.5 million kilometers from the world in November.
