Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Mustafa Şentop in the capital, Baku.
The Azerbaijani presidency said in a statement Thursday that Aliyev met with Şentop, who is participating in the conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku.
Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the further development and institutionalization of the movement and has taken some initiatives in this direction.
For his part, Şentop stressed the importance of the conference, referring to Azerbaijan’s successful leadership of the movement.
He stressed that parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are at the highest levels.
He noted the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkish States and the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries.
It is noteworthy that the Baku Conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement will be held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, on June 30 and July 1, 2022.
