Erdogan: We have provided our citizens 20 million doses of the vaccine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that 20 million doses of anti-Coronavirus vaccines have been provided to citizens across the country to date.

This came in a speech he gave on Saturday during his participation by video call at the opening ceremony of the “Hasan Kif-2” bridge in Batman, southeastern Turkey.

Erdogan has said, “The World Health Organization and the Western media consider Turkey’s struggle against the Corona epidemic as an example to follow”.

He explained, “In the last year only, we completed building health facilities with a total of 16 thousand and 160 beds, and opened them to serve the people”.

He also added: “We have provided 20 million doses of the vaccine against Corona at a time when about 100 countries were unable to obtain the first dose”.

He also pointed out that Turkey has become a place that attracts hundreds of thousands of foreign patients annually seeking cure, while our citizens no longer travel abroad to seek treatment.

Separately, Erdogan stressed that his government receives monthly reports on Turkey’s export and industrial production numbers.

He pointed out that Turkey achieved economic growth at a significant rate of 1.8 percent during 2020.

In addition, he stressed that international institutions began to amend and update their numbers and expectations after they were laying out pessimistic scenarios about the Turkish economy.

He indicated that the value of Turkish exports during last March increased by 42.2 percent compared to the same month of last year.

The result was the highest monthly level ever at $ 18.9 million.

He added, “Of course we are facing difficulties, but we also have many reasons to look with hope to the future”.

He added, “God willing, we will turn 2021 into a year of renaissance for our country and our people, and we will achieve this through brotherhood, solidarity, unity and solidarity”.

And Erdogan added: “We will not allow those greedy people who pin all their hopes on Turkey’s stumbling and being drawn into chaos and crisis..May God be with our help”.
