On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on his country’s National Day.
The Azerbaijani presidency stated in a statement that Erdogan sent a congratulatory message to Aliyev on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Azerbaijani Republic on May 28, 1918.
Erdogan explained in his telegram that brotherly Azerbaijan culminated in its legitimate victory by declaring “Republic Day”, indicating that Turkey shares Azerbaijan with this joy.
He expressed his desire to further consolidate and enhance the strategic relations that are running at an excellent level between the two countries.
Directing his speech to Aliyev, he said, “I firmly believe that brotherhood and cooperation between us are the greatest guarantee of peace, stability and prosperity in our region.”
