Bosnian Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovich said that Turkey has always stood by his country in adversity and disasters, and that today they return the favor by supporting the victims of the earthquake.
This came in statements he made on Wednesday during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, after their meeting in the capital, Ankara.
The Bosnian minister added that Turkey was among the first countries to reach Bosnia and Herzegovina and extend a helping hand immediately after disasters and crises occurred.
Konakovich cited the floods that hit his country in 2014 and that Turkey was the first country to send search and rescue teams.
He explained that after the devastating earthquake occurred in southern Turkey, the Bosnian search and rescue teams did not hesitate to come to Turkey and support them in search and rescue operations.
He stressed that they wish to provide all kinds of support and assistance within the maximum capabilities available to his country for the earthquake victims in Turkey.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Turkish Foreign Minister stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina sent 13 search and rescue teams, consisting of 234 members, immediately after the earthquake.
