This is amid expectations that it will witness a large turnout of local and foreign visitors, and taking into account the measures to prevent the Coronavirus.

Speaking on Wednesday, festival director Jim Karaja said the event is one of the largest of its kind in the world due to the amount of sand used that exceeded 10,000 tons.

Karaja added that the sculptors took into account during the design stage the historical information of the imitation models.

He pointed out that the festival will start its activities early next month, and it will take into account all preventive measures to prevent the spread of the Corona epidemic.

He expected this year’s festival to witness a large turnout of foreign tourists, as in the past.
