5-magnitude earthquake strikes Elâzığ in Turkey

On Thursday evening, a magnitude 5 earthquake struck the state of Elâzığ in eastern Turkey.

According to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), on its website, the judiciary witnessed an earthquake at 20:53 local time (17:53 GMT).

The statement added that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 21.34 km.

No loss of life or property was reported.
