The World Health Organization warned Wednesday that “more people in Gaza are dying from disease than from (Israeli) bombing as a result of the lack of health care” in the Strip.
The organization’s Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said in a post on the “X” platform: “Given the living conditions and lack of health care, a greater number of people could die from diseases than from the Israeli bombing.”
Ghebreyesus explained that there is a “high risk of disease outbreak” in Gaza.
He stressed: “We need a permanent ceasefire now,” explaining that this is “a matter of life and death for civilians.”
