According to Hiiraan Online, Somali Deputy Foreign Minister Land Yusuf Osman held meetings with US officials and international agencies to receive Afghan refugees.

“We are now studying applications from the United States and international agencies,” the website quoted Othman as saying.

If we are confident about these requests, we will be part of this “reception of Afghan refugees”.

On the African continent, Uganda had previously announced a temporary reception of 2,000 Afghan refugees on August 17 last.

And this is at the request of the United States, as 50 of them arrived on August 25 to the capital, Kampala.

Recently, the “Taliban” movement managed to control most of Afghanistan.
