Turkish TV presents its new series “Fatih Al-Qudus”

On Monday, Turkish television begins showing its series “The Fatih Al-Qudus, Saladin Al-Ayyubi,” which the audience is eagerly anticipating.

The series deals with the liberation of Jerusalem at the hands of Saladin and the rise of the Islamic world again after that. It is directed by Sedat Ince and is shown on Turkish Television Channel 1 (TRT 1).

On the filming site, actor Uğur Güneş, who plays the lead role, and the producer of the series, Emre Qunuq, made statements about the historical work.

Güneş, who plays the role of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi in the series, said that he conducted an extensive study on the life of the historical leader and reviewed his biography before starting filming.

Güneş expressed his pride in portraying the role of Salah al-Din in the series, which sheds light on an important era in the history of the region.

He added, “Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi means mercy and justice to me. He was a great scholar and leader.”

He pointed out that the aspect of Saladin’s biography that affected him most was his transformation into a great warrior.

“It is truly admirable that he did this through justice, reason and compassion,” he said.

He pointed out that the entire Islamic world is waiting for this series, and expressed his hope that this work will give a glimmer of hope to the people in Palestine.

In turn, producer Qunuq stated that preparations for the work took about two years.

He stated that decorations simulating that historical era were prepared on an area of 60 dunums in order to film the work.

Qunuq pointed to the important status of Jerusalem among Muslims and its present issue in various periods.

He noted that producing a work that narrates the biography of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi was a distant dream for them and has come true at this time.

He pointed out that the presentation of the Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi series coincided with the recent events taking place in the Palestinian territories.

He said that series and films have an impact that contributes to healing people’s wounds, and he expressed his hope that the Salah El-Din series would have such a benefit.

He pointed out that Saladin Al-Ayyubi was a rare leader who was praised in Eastern and Western historical sources. He liberated Jerusalem without bloodshed and gave freedom to people of all religions.
