The Turkish state of Izmir sent humanitarian and food aid to those affected by the floods that struck areas in Pakistan months ago.

The aid included 2,200 baskets containing foodstuffs and detergents, which were collected as part of a campaign launched by the state and the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency “AFAD” in Izmir.
Ceremonies were held to send the aid through two trucks, which set off towards the port of Mersin (south), and from there to Pakistan by sea via ships.
