Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nabatai said that most of Turkey’s national income is currently spent on investment and not on paying “interest” on loans.

Vegetarian explained in a tweet on Twitter on Sunday that the Turkish economy is growing through production and investment, not through borrowing and interest.

Vegetarian pointed to a structural shift in the Turkish economy in recent years.

He continued, “In 2002, the interest expense ratio was 14.3 percent of the national income, and this rate decreased to 2.5 percent in 2021, and in 2022 we expect it to decrease to 2.3 percent.”
