The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the neutralization of 14 YPG/PKK terrorists in northern Syria.
The ministry said in a statement on Saturday that the Turkish army continues to target terrorists in their hideouts.
It explained that the Turkish armed forces neutralized 14 terrorists who fired harassing fire and tried to infiltrate the “Peace Spring” and “Olive Branch” areas in northern Syria.
In March 2018, the Turkish forces and the Syrian National Army managed, through Operation Olive Branch, to liberate the Afrin region from the grip of the terrorist YPG/PKK, which had controlled it for six years.
On October 9, 2019, the Turkish army, with the participation of the Syrian National Army, launched Operation Peace Spring east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria.
This is to cleanse it of the YPG/PKK and ISIS terrorists, and to establish a safe area for the return of Syrian refugees to their country.
Turkey managed to liberate the cities of Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain from terrorists during the operation, which was suspended by the Turkish army on the 17th of the same month.
After Ankara and Washington reached an agreement to withdraw terrorists from the region, a similar agreement was followed with Russia on the 22nd of the same month.
