It explained that the Turkish armed forces neutralized 14 terrorists who fired harassing fire and tried to infiltrate the “Peace Spring” and “Olive Branch” areas in northern Syria.
In March 2018, the Turkish forces and the Syrian National Army managed, through Operation Olive Branch, to liberate the Afrin region from the grip of the terrorist YPG/PKK, which had controlled it for six years.
On October 9, 2019, the Turkish army, with the participation of the Syrian National Army, launched Operation Peace Spring east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria.
This is to cleanse it of the YPG/PKK and ISIS terrorists, and to establish a safe area for the return of Syrian refugees to their country.
