The head of the Association of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters in the Aegean region, “Kheraldin Ocak,” said on Saturday that the value of Turkey’s cherry exports amounted to $205 million.
He added that according to the association’s data, Turkey had exported cherries worth $205 million as of August 4, 2023, compared to 75,000 tons.
Ocak pointed out: “Last year, we exported 57 thousand tons of cherries, and this year we reached 75 thousand tons.”

He pointed out that Turkey ranks first in the world in cherry production. And he indicated: “In 2023, Turkish cherry exports increased by 32 percent on the basis of quantity and 54 percent on the basis of value. We reached 54 different export markets and were able to increase our exports to 34 countries and regions.”
And he added, “In addition to our traditional markets such as Germany and Russia, Turkish cherries are very popular in countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore and India.”
