Turkey.. the number of flood deaths increased to 78


The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced on Tuesday that the death toll from floods in three northern states last week has risen to 78.


The administration said in a statement that torrential rains and floods claimed the lives of 62 people in the state of Kastamonu, 15 in the state of Sinop, and 1 in the state of Barton, and indicated that two injured people were still, treated in hospitals.

Yesterday, AFAD announced that the death toll from torrential rains and floods has reached 71.

The northern regions of Turkey have witnessed heavy rains in recent days, which led to floods in the states of Kastamonu, Sinop and Barten, and caused great material losses as well.
