A spokesman for Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party, Omer Celik, said that the European Union maintains its silence regarding the injustice suffered by refugees, as well as the threat to journalists.
“Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mishotakis continues his false statements towards refugees and constantly weaves slanders against Turkey,” Celik said in a tweet on Thursday.

He added that Greece’s violations towards refugees have reached dangerous proportions, adding: “Our president (Erdogan) has constantly opposed these violations, and has constantly refuted the Greek allegations.”
He added that the Greek forces were committing humanitarian crimes by puncturing refugee boats and leaving them to die in the sea.
He reported that the Dutch journalist, Ingeborg Bogel, began receiving many threats and had to leave Greece because of this.
