Turkey sends aid to the flood-affected people in Kosovo

Turkey has sent humanitarian aid to those affected by the floods in Mitrovica, northern Kosovo.

The leadership of the Turkish representative delegation working within the KFOR peacekeeping force in Kosovo said in a statement on Saturday that the aid included urgent clothes for those affected by the torrential rains.

Torrents swept through the northern regions of Kosovo as a result of heavy rains that have continued since Thursday, leaving material damage without recording any human injuries.

The Kosovo Meteorological Service said in a statement that the rains will continue to fall in the same area until next Wednesday, warning that other regions of the country will be exposed to similar torrents and floods.

The Balkan countries, including Albania, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, are battling torrential rains over the past few days.
