Turkey condemns attacks on the “Green Zone” in Baghdad

On Friday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks on the “Green Zone” in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, yesterday and today.

The ministry said in a statement that it had received with concern the news of the attacks on the “Green Zone”, which includes the headquarters of political parties and foreign missions, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured as a result of the attacks.

It stressed that completing the procedures for forming a government in the neighboring country of Iraq on the basis of consensus is of great importance in terms of establishing lasting peace and stability in the country.

“We urge all parties involved in this sensitive process to exercise restraint,” she added.

It stressed that Turkey will continue its strong support for the establishment of lasting security and stability in Iraq.

And the Iraqi authorities announced that two people were injured as a result of the missile attacks on the Green Zone during the last two days.
