Turkey.. Air freight tonnages increased in the first half of 2023

The Turkish Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Oraloglu, announced that the air freight tonnage of goods in the first half of 2023 amounted to 1,846,483 tons, recording an increase of 1.6 percent.

Oraloglu said in a statement on Saturday that air transport vehicles are now more preferred for transporting goods.

He pointed out that air freight speeds up the transportation of goods, and this situation brings many advantages to the trade sector.

He added, “In the first half of 2022, the total air freight tonnage of goods amounted to 1,818,169 tons on domestic and foreign routes.”

He continued, “During the first half of 2023, the quantity reached 1,846,483 tons on internal and external lines.”

He pointed out that the tonnage shipped by air during the first half of 2023 increased by 1.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
