The US Secretary of State offers condolences to Turkey


US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken offered his condolences for the victims of a mine explosion in Barten state, northern Turkey, which killed 41 people.


“We are saddened by the loss of life in the Barton mine explosion,” Blinken said in a tweet on Twitter on Sunday. “We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, and we wish a full recovery for the injured.”

And on Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the death toll from the Barton mine explosion had risen to 41.


Energy Minister Fatih Donmez had announced that preliminary investigations showed that the explosion that occurred Friday was caused by a gas leak.
