The number of COVID-19 cases in Germany has exceeded 3.5 million, and in the country, in regions where the number of cases has increased, the number of new cases has tended to decrease after the restrictions began.

According to the statement by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of people diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus in the country has increased by 15,685 in the past 24 hours.

Thus, the total number of cases increased to 3 million 507 thousand and 673 cases.

With 238 people dying from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the total loss of life has risen to 84,648.

Tendency to reduce the number of cases

In Germany, in regions where the weekly number of cases exceeded 100 per 100,000 people, the number of new cases has tended to decline since mid-April after the introduction of exit and contact restrictions.

The number of new cases, which reached 23,804 on April 17th, decreased to 23,392 on April 24th, and 18,935 on May 1st.

The number of new cases seen in 100,000 people per week also decreased, which was 125.7 yesterday, to 121.5.

Today, that number is recorded as 164 on April 24 and 149 on May 1.

The number of people recovering from the Coronavirus in the country has reached 3 million 147 thousand and 100 people.

Vaccination campaign

In the ongoing vaccination campaign in Germany, 26 million 854 thousand 545 people have been given the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The second dose is 7 million 572 thousand 228 people, and so 34 million 426 thousand 773 vaccine doses have been given in the country since December 27, 2020.
