The European Union supports Ukraine: we stand by this country


The European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Relations and Security Policy Josep Borrell made a statement to reporters at the conference centre.

Where he came to attend the special session of the Western Balkans of the meeting of NATO foreign ministers, which was held in Riga, the capital of Latvia.


Borrell emphasized that Ukraine is very important to them, as well as to the countries of the Western Balkans:

For the European Union, Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty are above all else.

We stand firmly and firmly with this country in the face of any attempt to undermine the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.”

Stressing the need to prevent a potential crisis, Josef Borrell said, “everything must be done to signal that any aggression against Ukraine will be answered.”

High Representative Borrell indicated that they are concerned about the controversial discourse in Bosnia and Herzegovina recently, in relation to the Western Balkans.


Referring to the importance of dialogue in order to achieve stability in the region, Borrell stressed that they are against any initiatives that would disrupt Bosnia and Herzegovina as a single state.
