The EU and Saudi Arabia sign a cooperation agreement

The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia.

In a tweet on Twitter, Borrell indicated that he had signed a cooperation agreement with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan in Riyadh.

In order to coordinate permanent communication between the two sides in the fields of politics, social economy, security, and others.

He pointed out that the European Union started the first “human rights dialogue” with Saudi Arabia.

On Sunday, the capital, Riyadh, witnessed separate meetings of the Saudi Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Faisal bin Farhan, and Adel Al-Jubeir, with their French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian.

In addition, Al-Jubeir met with the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union Josep Borrell in Riyadh.

Borrell’s visit to Riyadh comes after his visit to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, in his first tour of the Arabian Gulf region after taking office.
