Economic and technical cooperation between Turkey and Thailand

On Thursday, the Turkish capital, Ankara, hosted the fourth meeting of the joint committee for economic and technical cooperation between Turkey and Thailand.

The meeting took place in the presence of Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and Thailand’s Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai.

Varank and Pramudwinai signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Turkey and Thailand.

The meeting also witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the Thai Agency for International Cooperation.

In a speech during the meeting, Pramodwinay referred to his country’s consensus with Turkey on many issues around the world.

He said that the two countries can cooperate in the field of food security by mutually increasing agricultural exports and halal products.

He pointed to the possibility of cooperation in the field of renewable energy and electric cars through the private sector in both countries.

He explained that Thailand could become a production center for Turkey and that trade should be free, efficient, sustainable and balanced.
