NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed that Turkey is an important NATO ally and contributes significantly to its common security.

This came in a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in which he thanked Ankara for its support for Ukraine, indicating that the latter is developing its defense thanks to Turkey.
“Turkey is an important NATO ally and contributes significantly to our common security,” Stoltenberg said.
He highly appreciated what Turkey had done to “protect an important lifeline” (the shipping route of Ukraine’s grain through the Black Sea) in order to meet the needs of millions.

He emphasized that Finland and Sweden had said they would allay Turkey’s anti-terror concerns.
