Punishment for officials who fail to provide medical supplies to India

In India, the Supreme Court has ruled to punish government officials responsible for failing to provide vital medical supplies for new types of Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients.

In New Delhi, the Supreme Court ruled that if the oxygen cylinders requested by the hospitals were not delivered, the relevant government officials could be punished.

Judges Phippin Sanji and Rika Patel have said that they will not let people die.

Hospital officials who stated that the government could not provide regular oxygen supplies applied to the court, asking the judiciary to intervene in the process.

The news was reflected in the newspapers that 12 patients with Coronavirus were receiving treatment in a hospital in the capital, New Delhi, due to the lack of an oxygen tube.

On the other hand, 16 people have died in Andhra Pradesh and 6 people have died in a hospital outside New Delhi for the same reason.

In India, one of the countries most affected by the Coronavirus epidemic, 392,488 new cases were discovered during the past 24 hours, and 3 thousand and 689 people died.
