The value of Turkish exports in the home furniture sector exceeded one billion dollars during the first quarter of this year, recording 1.1 billion dollars.

According to data from the Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Union on Sunday, the sector’s exports during the mentioned period increased by 27.5 percent compared to the same period last year, recording $1.1 billion.
The United States, Germany, France, Iraq and Libya were at the forefront of importing countries for Turkish furniture.
In an interview with Anadolu Agency, Erkan Ozkan, head of the Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Union, said that the sector contributes billions of dollars to the country’s exports every year.
He added that the successes in production and export enabled the sector to reach the forefront in many markets of developed countries.

The Turkish furniture sector aims to achieve exports worth $6 billion by the end of 2022, according to the Turkish Furniture Manufacturers Association. Istanbul, Bursa, Ankara, Kayseri and Izmir are among the leading Turkish states in the home furniture industry.
