An earthquake measuring 6.1 struck Japan today, Saturday, according to the country’s meteorological agency.
The agency said that the quake occurred off the coast of the main island of Hokkaido in the far north of Japan, at a depth of 60 km, at 13:27 GMT.
The Japanese authorities did not issue any warning about the possibility of tsunami waves after the quake.
