Official data on the aviation sector reported Tuesday that Istanbul Airport and Turkish Airlines have recently been at the top of the aviation sector in Europe.

According to data from the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation “Eurocontrol” regarding flights between June 27 – July 3, 2022, European airspace witnessed 214,216 flights.
Turkish Airlines ranked third among the airlines most organized flights in Europe during the mentioned period, with 1,510 flights per day, after the Irish Ryanair and British EasyJet.

In a related context, the Airports Council International (ACI) announced that Istanbul Airport was the busiest in Europe last May, with 5,661,151 passengers.
