Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country will make an important contribution to overcoming the global food crisis through the movement of ships that will begin in the coming days in Ukrainian ports.
In a speech during a meeting with workers of an industrial company in the central province of Kayseri on Saturday, Erdogan stressed that Turkey’s weight is increasing day by day in foreign policy and diplomacy in addition to the economy.

He explained that Istanbul witnessed an important success on Friday, represented in the signing of the agreement to export suspended grains in Ukraine through the Black Sea, in the presence of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
He continued, “We will make an important contribution to overcoming the global food crisis through the movement of ships, which will start in the coming days.”
Erdogan stressed that Ankara is determined to continue its diplomatic efforts until peace is achieved between Russia and Ukraine.
He hoped to receive good news about the meetings and contacts taking place at all levels, including the leaders, in the near future.

President Erdoğan noted that the world is going through one of the biggest economic shocks of the past half century.
He said that the crisis that began with the coronavirus epidemic was exacerbated by the outbreak of clashes between Russia and Ukraine.
He stated that the impact of this storm that hits the world economy will also affect Turkey, of course, and that his government is taking the necessary measures.
He revealed that Turkish exports exceeded $126 billion in the first half of 2022 and will reach about $300 billion by the end of the year.
He stressed that the government’s priority is to continue and increase job opportunities that ensure that every member of our people has a job and a livelihood.

“For this reason, we encourage investment, production and export,” he added.
He explained that Turkey is currently witnessing a tourist movement that exceeds expectations, as the hotels of Istanbul and Antalya are full of tourists, and this shows the country’s transformation into a center of attraction.
