Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed on Saturday to bring stability to commodity prices and curb fluctuations in the national currency’s exchange rate in the not-too-distant future.

This came during his participation in the inauguration of a number of service and development projects in the state of Siirt, in the southeast of the country.

“We will keep price movements and exchange rate fluctuations at a reasonable and stable level within a not long period, God willing,” President Erdogan said.

And he added, “We will always stand by the producers, who create jobs through low interest rates.”

President Erdoğan also pledged to raise the minimum wage to a level that compensates those with low incomes.
