Erdogan visits Ataturk’s mausoleum in Ankara

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the mausoleum of the Republic’s founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, in the capital, Ankara, on Thursday.

This came before he chaired the meeting of the Supreme Military Shura Council at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

Erdogan laid a wreath at Ataturk’s mausoleum and then observed a minute’s silence.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Military Shura Council considers, during its meetings, the promotion and retirement of senior officers and the status of officers accused of issues related to discipline and breach of military regulations and rules, in addition to making decisions related to military service.
