Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his gratitude to the countries that offered their condolences to Ankara over the victims of the mine explosion in the northern Barten state.
This came in a tweet he posted on his Twitter account on Saturday evening, attached to a picture of the flags of the countries condoling his country.
Erdogan said that he expresses his gratitude on behalf of the Turkish people for the sincere solidarity of the friendly countries that shared his country’s pain through messages of condolences and sympathy.
Earlier on Saturday, President Erdogan announced that the death toll from the Barton mine explosion had risen to 41.
Energy Minister Fatih Donmez had announced that preliminary investigations showed that the explosion that occurred on Friday was caused by a gas leak.
