Erdogan congratulates the Islamic world on Eid Al-Fitr

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday extended his congratulations to the citizens of his country and the Islamic world on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

In a video message on this occasion, he said: “In addition to our citizens, I congratulate our people and the rest of the Islamic world on Eid al-Fitr.”

He expressed his wishes that Eid would be a means of peace and tranquility for Turkey, its people, the Islamic world and all of humanity.

President Erdoğan thanked the security forces who were watching over the security of the homeland and the safety and reassurance of the people inside and outside the borders during Eid, and had mercy on the martyrs.

He singled out the forces participating in the ongoing “claw-lock” operation against PKK terrorists in northern Iraq.

In addition to Turkey, 17 Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, announced that Monday will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to official data, while other countries are exploring the Shawwal crescent on Sunday evening.
