Erdogan announces return to school on Monday

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the return of all students to schools next Monday, after a period of distance education due to the spread of the Corona epidemic.

This came in a speech on Friday during the ceremony of appointing 20,000 teachers at the “Gulf” Convention Center in Istanbul.

Erdogan congratulated all those appointed, noting that the number of teachers in Turkey has reached one million and 137 thousand.

“By taking the utmost measures, our children will return to their schools on Monday,” he said.

He stressed that they are determined to keep schools open so that children receive the best education with their peers.

He pointed out that Turkey is the country in Europe that has improved the salaries of teachers over the past twenty years.
