Chinese President: Turkey will overcome the earthquake disaster

On Monday, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his condolences to Turkey after the devastating earthquakes that struck the south of the country and said that it would “overcome the disaster under the leadership of its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”

In a condolence message to President Erdogan, Xi added that under the leadership of the Turkish president, “the government and people of Turkey will overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes,” according to the Chinese “CGTN” network.

And the Chinese president expressed his deep sorrow over the “great loss of life and property” caused by the earthquake.

And the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that the death toll from the earthquake that struck the south of the country had risen to 2,316, and 13,293 were injured.

An earthquake struck Turkey and Syria at dawn Monday, with a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale, followed by another at noon with a magnitude of 7.6, leaving great losses in lives and property in both countries.
