Britain invites Russia to dialogue on ‘Ukraine’

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said she was pleased that the only way out of the situation created by the buildup of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border was dialogue.

And that Moscow gave the message that it is ready to start negotiations in January.

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said in her written statement that she condemned the Kremlin’s “aggressive and provocative” rhetoric against Ukraine and NATO.

Truss emphasized that NATO is a defensive alliance, and stated that Ukraine continues to maintain “laudable” restraint in the face of “Russian provocation and aggression.”

The only way out of the current situation for Russia is dialogue.

The British Foreign Secretary stated that the Russian military build-up on the Ukrainian border and in the illegally annexed Crimea is unacceptable, “Any Russian attack would be a major strategic mistake.”
