The opening of the smart agricultural village came after the two presidents inaugurated Zangilan International Airport, the second airport built with the participation of Turkish companies in the Azerbaijani lands liberated from the Armenian occupation.

In a speech during the opening ceremony, President Erdogan noted that he had laid the foundation stone of the village with his Azerbaijani counterpart last year.

He expressed his admiration for the completion of this project within a short period of time, especially in an area emerging from the ruins of destruction due to occupation and war.

Erdogan stated that he discussed with Aliyev the possibility of building a dam in the region within a short period, and that this would strengthen the agricultural sector in the region.

In turn, Aliyev stressed that Zangilan is witnessing a historic day and said, “This is a great holiday for all the Azerbaijani people.”

After reciting verses from the Noble Qur’an, Erdogan and Aliyev cut the tape of the opening of the first phase of the Smart Agricultural Village project and toured the project facilities.

Earlier, Erdogan and Aliyev inaugurated the Zangilan International Airport in the Karabakh region, which is the second airport built with the participation of Turkish companies in the liberated Azerbaijani lands.
